The overall objective of FSX is to carry out a major emergency simulation exercise, in the context of the European Union Civil Protection Mechanism, making it possible to respond to a man-made disaster and fight the consequences of it.

The EU-CHEM-REACT Consortium designed a base scenario for the Field Exercise (FSX) with involvement of the national rescue capacities, international response team (e.g. CP modules) and a European Civil Protection Mechanism Team (EUCPT) supported by TAST. The FSX was designed taking into account the specific exercise needs, the specificity of the chemicals releases related incidents taking place across the states borders and the lessons learnt from previous deployment of EU Missions to Ukraine as well as from previous exercise(s) organized by project partners.

FSX follows the outcomes Table Top Exercise (TTX) and is an exact continuation of TTX scenario.
